Unfortunately, I do not own the first game in this series but, after playing the demo, I am convinced that was an egregious oversight on my part. I like the mini games and the added puzzle element. You can queue multiple actions which allows you more flexibility in deterring the robbers. What I love most about this series is the click queuing. This can get annoying at times but it does keep your attention as a result. There are a few new ones including robbers who will steal your resources if you don't collect them quick enough. The graphics are the same as well as many of the characters. That being said, this one is pretty much like the last one.
I play them timed cause it's challenging but not 'rip your hair out' frustrating to get the gold time. It's one of the few series I actually play 'timed' (Royal Envoys & Island Tribes are the others). The labour of love continues! I absolutely loved the first one.
